Chirping Foxes
Chirping foxes' name is sort of a misnomer - they're not actually foxes at all, though they look very similar. A species all on their own, chirping foxes are called such due to their foxlike appearance and their unique form of communication -- they "talk" primarily through chirps, clicks and keens. These false foxes are quite talkative, as well, and you can't be around one without hearing an earful of their chatter.
Chirping foxes are omnivorous, but they mostly eat insects and small animals -- animals smaller than them, at least, as they are very tiny. Average foxes are only about one foot tall from paw to shoulder, but they can be very long. Their tail itself is usually about as long as their body is, if not longer! It is also fairly strong and prehensile, strong enough that they can hold themselves up in a high area with their tail. They also don't weigh very much, with the average being around ten pounds. They aren't fragile as their appearance might hint, however; they are surprisingly resilient to injury and tend to be very agile.
The most striking feature of a chirping fox is their interesting set of ears -- or, what appears to be ears. These 'false ears' operate like a funnel, moving around to pinpoint where sound is originating from. For this reason, these foxes are known to have amazingly accurate hearing.

Lucy
Short Story
Her back turned away from her future destination, Lucy looked back on what once had been her home. Long stretches of scrub land, dotted with patches of brush, were painted in hues of reddish gold by the rays that bathed them. This is where Lucy had grown up, raised by her parents. They had taught her to hunt, to care for herself, and to feel loved; and now it was time for her to go out into the world to find her own place in it. The fact was bitter-sweet for while Lucy had loved her family, she had always felt the call to rambling solitude. She couldn't deny the excited tingling in her paws as she turned away from childhood haunts and faced her new life as a young adult. With one last sigh that was now more excitement than resignation, Lucy headed off into the sunset, ready to begin her journey into the unknown. |
Glen
Friendship!
How did these two meet? I have no idea, but let me assure you that they are best of pals! Jorgon, a good couple of feet taller than Glen, loves giving rides to his slightly shorter buddy. Glen likes playing with Jorgan and somehow the two seem to understand each other's forms of communication. They like to play wrestle, eat together, and I had to bye a way bigger mattress so they could curl up into a nap pile. I love these two together and would never separate them. <3 | Design © SkyGold of CS | Character © PixieStoryteller (me!) |
